Didn't win, but got a neat honorable mention trophy. Kind of disappointing, but still really cool to be nominated at all during my first show.

Congrats on the honorable mention. Not sure I agree with their choice, the bookshelf is cool but there is also a lot of "off the shelf" Lego kits on it and that sort of marks it down in my opinion.

 

Add me to the list thinking your creation was better than the bookshelf. (Kind of hard to tell but is it a wooden bookshelf stocked with lego sets? If so, how many of us have the same thing at home )

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. Again, I'm still flabbergasted to get anything on my first show. This is really an honor.

For the awards, each category was narrowed down to three nominated finalists by the judges. Registered attendees then were able to vote on their pick of the three. The major thing the bookshelf (completely brick built, BTW, and the builder added lighting) is the builder did not have to stand there and give everyone a tour of all the interior details.

The other contender for Best Large Creation was this magnificent castle build. I honestly felt like should have been the winner, for certain.









George was nominated for Builder of the Plains - essentially "Best in Show" - but lost to the builder of this stunning Bag End. It has a fully detailed interior, though I haven't had a chance to get pics of it opened up. Definitely a tough competition.





One more day to go, the tear down and a late arrival back home.

well i have over 200 something photos from the same even some of mine are up close and some are not since im not special like @Sear87 lol but i tried as good as i could and in the crappy lighting for a camera. but overall the event was awesome and loads of fun all of the builds out there were so damn cool from the largest and most detailed to some of the more simple things just lots of cool stuff and nice people!

welp back to my dungeon to edit photos and find the good ones! hopefully tomorrow i can post them
