    That Sante Fe set is seriously cool. Damn near ice cold. Did you build the cars yourself or was it an entire set?

    I almost grabbed the elf club house walking through target yesterday. Bit too advanced for my 6year old niece. We did snag a creator tree though and put it together last night.
    PXL_20211208_203035447.jpg

    In all honesty my Kato n scale trains are fragile and I'd be better served with Lego train around the tree instead.... I have not even pulled the n scale out of the cabinet this year after knocking a locomotive off the track onto the floor below last year... I kept it out of the package with intentions to send it off for repair but now I'm sure it wouldn't get back to me til July.......

    So I grabbed the n scale stuff because that post motivated me....

    1/5 trains is operable
    0/5 trolleys working
    PXL_20211208_213240545.jpg
    When I put them away last year the steam engine had a broken intermediary shaft that I needed to send off, the Kato had busted it's rear wheelset (my fault for not being more careful and setting up in too tight a space), and an older model monon freighter is just worn out ...

    The brill trolleys get gunky and cold and the motors don't want to spin over.... I hate bachman but the brill trolley works for my needs really well....

    This may be the motivation I need to approach with caution and ask permission

    I scored the Santa Fe sets years ago off Craigslist. Found them in Tampa across the state. Had 2 limited edition engines and fickle cars of varying sets. Included stickers, boxes, instructions and the like. I think I paid like $150 for all of it (before it blew up in value). Paid for shipping and they have been a great addition ever since. Edit to add... they came disassembled per set and I put them back together. I believe LEGO sold them as a “set” also but not sure what came in it.

    Current prices per engine / car are nuts. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalo...ition&category=[Train][9V]#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

    I have the Super Chief and two cars. Still have the boxes for the cars, engine box was lost in the purge

    Wish I had gotten the BNSF engine and Emerald Night, but that was during my time out of the hobby

    Here’s today’s.

    image.jpg

    Also took The Sith Art and used a Rebrickable instruction set to make this. Took longer than I had anticipated but was still a fun build. I’ve got a few more Art ones to build in the future, gonna hang them in my home office soon

    Question for you Lego people. Is there anyplace to buy replacement pieces? My son has just gotten into legos, just the little lots because he’s young, and a wheel for a little Spider-Man car went missing. Probably became dog food. Or do I just gotta buy him a new set?
