Wow that is awesome Craig! I saw that at the Lego store in Bellevue the other day (they had the DeLorean too). I still have a wooden toy chest of space Legos from the '80s when I was a kid, think I might have the original instruction manual for that one in there.

I’ve got all 3 of the OG classic space ships.

after opening the instructions I found that the designer actually made instructions to build the other two with the new construction style as well. I may have to get another kit just to build the matching sets.

You'd have to get two more or substitute parts from your collection. Can't build both alt models from a single set.

From what I've read, the updated 918 alt build is just okay at best, but the 924 is fantastic. I'm considering cracking open my second copy just for that one.

there wasn’t a lot of details but they both looked good.

kinda worth it in the end to have all 3 updated ships. :D

I keep talking myself out of the lion knights castle. Do you all remember the dragon and wolf knights back in the day?

It looks great, but $400 feels too steep. I dumped all of my VIP points and got it for much less but haven't yet built it.

I had a few Dragon Masters and Wolfpack sets as a kid. Different faction, but the crown jewel of my castle collection was Black Knight's Castle, which I dug out and rebuilt last year.

I had a dragon knight small castle, and my favorite, the treehouse set that was the stag “knights”…. Was a weird “prince of thieves” kid.

Pic just loaded…. I had that tree house set, or one much like it.

the interior details on this kit is unreal.

there is even a functional air-lock between the main cabin and the rover storage area!

    Homie built a Lego! :woot:

I thought the sliding airlock door was pretty cool too. Never seen the slider assembly like that before. I was thinking the back end of the interior would have been cooler if they had made a little crew cabin with bunks and stuff.

I got one of these plastic finger paint trays from Michaels and glued a generic baseplate into the bottom of it. the inside of the tray is just over 12x15 so the plate fits perfect. meant to grab some wall/fence pieces with my last PAB to make little sorting compartments on the side but i forgot so its still a work in progress

I think I've posted it in here before, but I use one of these from harbor freight: [IMG]

The ribs on the main area make it easy to keep piles sorted, with the cups around the edges for large amounts of smaller parts (pins in technic sets for instance). Plus it's grippy and flexible enough that I can use it on the couch or on my lap without it sliding around. Plus I even use it in the garage working on the 4runner sometimes haha

And as a sidebar: anyone using the Honey extension with lego.com? I've gotten a fair amount of cash back from them on it, minimum a few percent, but often I'll put something in my cart, go away for a day, and usually will have an offer the next day for a few bucks back on whatever set. I think the biggest one I've seen was $20something back off the BMW M1000RR

With having two boys, we should have a dedicated LEGO room, but they wanted to have a “playroom” that has the gaming systems. It’s not a safe place for LEGO building. Although, we do have many sets displayed in there. Everyone know the sets that can be played with and the ones that are not played with. It’s my youngest’s rules surprisingly.
