Mine should be delivered tomorrow but I’m supposed to be out of town. Either need to have my neighbor grab it or stay home and wait for the brown truck to come

In a surprise to absolutely no one, I'm sure, the pirate GWP has my interest. I might be shedding some cash in the near future.

Your niche habit will require a display space roughly the size of Hertfordshire at this rate.

    Legoland NY is pretty cool.
Geared very much towards kids of course.
Was absolutely packed to the gills today so we didn't get on everything, as almost everything had a 1 hour wait for the lines.
The cities and monuments they had on display were stunning. Absolutely massive. In think the capitol building was about 100,000 pieces itself.
One of the Chicago buildings had more translucent pieces than I've ever seen in my life. 20231008_113243.jpg 20231008_114213.jpg 20231008_131410.jpg 20231008_132832.jpg 20231008_132525.jpg 20231008_163037.jpg
    The store was MASSIVE.
I thought the store in Disney springs was enormous.. this had to be twice the size.
Picked up a speed champions countach because I couldn't remember if I had it already and you can never have enough speed champions sets.

We had a great time as well when we went in the summer. But when we went, the water park wasn't done yet. Gonna have to go again next summer.

    Yet more progress.

In a completely uncharacteristic fashion, I actually shortened the hull by six studs. Built up the masts, played with their location a bit, and further spaced the portholes (5 studs between instead of 4). A bit difficult to see in the pics, but the masts are built on geared technic mechanisms at 1.5 degrees off vertical, giving them a slight rearward rake and aligning all of the spars vertically. If all worked as planned, this will also allow the masts to collapse a bit for stowage/travel.

I'm a little late with this one, but I just got the new Blacktron Cruiser.

    Story Time
I was more excited by this set than any other recent set because Blacktron I was a Lego line I yearned for as a child, but never had. When I was ~3, I received the Legoland collection of space minifigures and to this day but I still have one of the Blacktron figures from that set.

    6703_Space_Minifigures.jpg

I was too young for my mom to justify buying me much more, but as I grew older I played with Blacktron I at an older cousin's house and dreamed about the creations I saw in the old idea book.

As an adult I've considered buying used Blacktron I, but it's hard to justify the markup on those old sets. Well, thanks to the new Blacktron Cruiser, I have some Blacktron I of my own and I couldn't be happier. When my eight-year-old daughter asked me why I was so excited, my wife explained to her that it's because Lego has figured out how to trick men in mid-life crisis into buying nostalgia. :)

Lego also does a great job of driving my FOMO. Their limited life spans and skyrocketing costs on the second hand market keeps me buying early. Additionally a decent gift with purchase will get me every time.

Couldn’t get great pictures of the interior. Cool build, alot crammed into a small space but it matched up with the movie well.

Finished the DeLorean. I played with the Part II, Part II Hover and Part III modes before ultimately deciding on Part II Hover. I whipped up a few blocks from my childhood sets to angle it a bit and I put the Part III pieces in there.

I may still buy some tires for the wheels to make it look a little cooler but I’m very pleased. I still have the urge to buy another one to build Part III, but it won’t fit on my bookcase. You can see it in the fourth pic joined by my Diamond Select Part II car and the Playmobil DeLorean and Marty’s truck.

I did just buy the 1955 and 1885 wheels and figures for the Playmobil DeLorean so I might change that to the 1955 version with Mr. Fusion and the pink shirt Marty and 1955 Doc. If I ever did get a second Lego then I’d convert the Playmobil DeLorean to the train wheels and the 1885 Marty and Doc, but we will see what happens.

The World Map just dropped drastically in price. Does that mean it's about to be discontinued?

Potentially or it’s just not selling as well as expected.
