    moving sucks
    moving with legos sucks more
i settled on just minimally dismantling the sets and putting two or three in a pillowcase then tying the pillowcase shut.
my parents are going to store my camper for me for the winter so i have all of the sets/pillowcases set out on the bed and floor. they'll be fine - i hope - like that until i can get settled in and take them to reassemble them.

I moved a couple months ago, I put smaller sets in quart ziploc bags, and then larger ones in gallon and two gallon bags. Ziploc has some "flat bottom" ones that expand for some extra room that were nice. Keeps any pieces that fall out with it's set, but also allowed me to keep some air in there to help cushion between each of them. I think I spent maybe $25 on bags to move everything? 3 or 4 boxes worth.

i thought about that too. i did put my vintage 80's sets in hard sided plastic containers since they're more fragile and harder to replace. i had pulled all of my extra bed sheets out and thought that that could work for the larger sets since i'm just keeping them in my camper. if i was having to box them up I probably would have done the zip loc thing

yuuup. Just moved across the country. I got large plastic totes and dismantled minimally to fit into the bin. The one we’re most worried about moving, still a work on progress, is the stairways gunship. The winter village already had its own totes. We stopped disassembling them annually after the brown and gold pieces were almost a yearly replacement request to the home office.

I saw one of those in someone on here's truck. I think everyone here would like one, too.

Edit: now that I look at your screen name, it was you!

    That was probably my truck.

The guy I bought mine from - stopped making them. You’ll need to DYOR.

Just missed a complete UCS B wing on marketplace for $50… :annoyed:

I told myself I was done but that’s the only set I’d consider right now :anonymous:
