I'm an avid Insta-hater so can't actually see the vid, just the still pic of the snow cat.

Rigging is complete, probably should have found a better background for pics. Now she's packed up for our monthly Bricklab meeting tonight. Sails will happen eventually

My intention is starched fabric. Most likely I'll make paper templates and call it good

I buddy used fabric after soaking it in light coffee. Looked pretty good, and had that old fabric kind of look in the end.

That could work. Not sure I want that much of an aged tone, was thinking more of a muslin color. Appreciate the suggestion!

the boat looks awesome @Sear87 !

just curious - once you start building the actual model do you redesign anything as you go? like something just isn't coming together the way you thought it would? or are you pretty set once you have the studio version completed?

    Thank you!

I usually have the general design pretty well where I want it before beginning the physical build, but something almost always gets adjusted. Other than a few minor details, most changes are (typically minor) structural improvements, either because the design wasn't very stable or I thought of a better way to achieve a design.

The paddleboat probably had the most changes during the actual build. The paddle wheels were originally 4 studs wide but looked a bit wimpy in real life. I widened them to 6 studs which also required rebuilding the paddle boxes. It was also initially designed to run off an old micromotor, later replaced with a more robust, quieter, and less expensive motor.

I placed an order for 1 of each. Then last min I decided to order a second castle. We’ll see if that was wise soon enough.

Because they came separately? Mine did the same. I was confused.

No not that. I liked them being boxed separately, minimizes damage imho.

I was just thinking about the GG gwp, it hasn’t been available for months and then a ton must’ve shipped out recently. Do they compile the sets at one time or as they need them? If made in advance, storage, replacement and other questions come to mind.

For sure. I got mine with the Dune set, so it was pre-ordered. I was fully prepared not to receive Galileo because of the time frame involved. But he showed up. Saying something about the Earth orbiting the Sun. Who would ever believe that garbage?

    (it's a cool little set, that had a feature I didn't expect)

All the castles have been sold. Congrats! Only the Parisian Street and General Store remain which is kinda surprising. A few releases ago, none of the sets made it past the first few hours.
