My youngest builds lego with me. I have to say we really liked the Concord build. Great proportions, the little galley/lav/seating area is a nice touch. The synchronized raise/lower of the landing gear is really cool too. And it looks good above my kitchen cabinets with my 1:100 B747s.

I am working with what I have, including some very basic building techniques from the 90s.

A few Christmases back I went home and rebuilt all my sets from childhood. The leftover loose legos went to my brother and more importantly my niece. I am glad she likes legos, but not gonna lie I have been sad about the loss I told my mom, so this year she went out of her way and she has sent me a few boxes of random legos that she bought at yard sales to help me fill the void. This crazy plane was what I came up with.

Here's the pile I started with.

There's just something freeing about building whatever you want with a pile of legos even if it's a hodgepodge.

Being into 3D printing and finally being able to afford a larger 3D printer with a fully active heating chamber and 4 spool filament CFS, I needed a simple first project on the new machine before starting a few labors of love (Star Wars geek stuff).........

The wife came to me with this exact idea for a first project on the new printer, and I agreed!
I looked on Thing verse and the like, and found you can get print files for all SORTS of other holiday accessories for it too, like bats, candy corn and spiders for Halloween, and flowers and pastel studs for a spring motif as well.

What eventually will be a LEGO wreath for the wife.
    Something like this.....

    il_794xN.6500117510_e25d.jpg

The cool thing is, since the "branches" act just like real Legos, they make all SORTS of accessories for the wreath for other holidays too.....

Like Lego bats, spiders and candy corn for Halloween, and even eggs and flowers for spring, and hearts for V-day and the like.
She's pretty jazzed at how many possible holiday options there are for this thing.

I started the wife's wreath 2 days ago and only have one more print to go before it's ready to be assembled.

The wreath doesn't take much time or filament at all.
If the wife does some cleanup work on the wreath today, it will be ready for assembly and hanging tonight.
I've honestly been printing overnight and the time seems to fly by.

I do however have a larger printer with the ability to print 4 branches at a time so that shaves off a day or two of printing time.

Also got my 2x VIP points order, still missing my Black Friday order…seems shipping delays but it’s an odd company and not the usual suspects like UPS and FedEx….little upset and not sure what to do besides wait it out.
