Very nice Rob...you are sneaky with your mods. Make sure you spray those uniballs with Dupont Dry Teflon Spray. You can buy it at Lowes. We should go to Welks or whatever that place is in Escondido.

 

The Built Right UCAs were a total impulse buy. I took it in for a tune up and the cab mount chop. While they had the wheels off, they noticed that my LR uca bushings were shot (plus there was a lot of back and forth slop). They said the bushings needed to be replaced soon and that I should contact Toytec. I've wanted the BuiltRight UCA since the group price so it gave me the excuse I needed. I asked him if he had any of the Built Right UCAs in stock. He said yes and was somewhat shocked when I said let's do it. He said, "You mean now?" He gave them to me for the TW price ($489).

He said I need about a 500 mile break in and then bring the truck back in to refirm everything up. Did you go on the trail immediately after getting them?

 

I think I may have...but I did take them back at 500 miles whenever I get stuff installed. If I did do a trail then i would have did something light. It was back in April so I can't recall.

 

Bought this Truck Tent for trucks with a camper shell. It extends the bed by the length of the tailgate making enough room to sleep in. I still have to make a platform. I bought it for the Superstition Mountain trip. I bought it from here:

Added a removeable bed platform for camping:


The tailgate section folds for moving. The legs are removeable. It gives me 6" of bed space.

 

Looks like someone is getting ready for Superstition.

 

Can you elaborate on this? What's the feeling and where? I ask because I just had new front brakes installed, a new brake shim kit and had the rotors resurfaced. Next: Alignment and then back to discount tire for a rebalancing because my steering wheel still shakes like a mofo. Just wondering if your slop was something I should look into.

BTW, you sure are doing a lot of stuff to your rig. Looking good rob. Its awesome your lady (assumption) is doing all this with you. Mine needs a motor home. Haha.

 

The back and forth slop is referring to the actual UCA. With the wheel off, the tech was able to slide the uca back and forth (front to back) along the main bolt. He said some movement is normal but mine was way too much.

 

might i ask exactly what parts did you use to mount your hi lift, i have the same bakflip and i do love it but i hate how it takes the bed rails, been looking to do the same thing and yours looks perfect, thx if you can help
