Which is good for ICE and Hybrid vehicles going forward.

Reason why EV's in trouble. EV resale or used sales going into the toilet. Who wants to buy a used EV knowing that $10,000 plus battery (you just bought) might expire in two, three years? Have fun coughing up "BIG" bucks for a new battery.

Who even knows how easy or difficult it is to replace a EV battery?

Who even knows if two, three years from now your current EV battery is obsolete and going the route of the Dodo bird.

Lastly, who even knows if insurance companies want to insure EV's knowing there will be major cost to replace a damaged or destroyed battery?

Stick with ICE and Hybrid engines and PROSPER.

stick with a horse drawn carriage.

reason, you just don't know when you will get a flat tire, run out of gas, or blow a rod out the side.

The EV market is not in trouble. Manufactures who do not change with market conditions or want to price all their upfront R&D and build out cost onto their consumer in the first few years are in trouble. Not to mention all the manufactures who allow their dealers to jack up the prices of the EVs and other cars in general.

I think Tesla is the only company that turns a profit on ev’s, Ford just got a huge bailout from the gov’t for their ev program.

Major value added to the 2024 Tacoma confirmed. The last ICE/hybrid Tacoma is going to be in very high demand. Price pumpers we’re right.

You know what's funny? ~125 years ago people bitched about 'the automobile' replacing their horse and buggy.

'Who wants to buy an automobile knowing that it could cost me $40 to replace the engine that might expire in two, three years? Have fun coughing up "BIG" bucks for a new engine.'

'Who even know how easy or difficult it is to replace a gasoline engine?'

'Who even knows if two, three years from now your engine is obsolete and going the route of the Dodo bird.'

'You mean to tell me I have to buy gasoline to put in this automobile in order to drive? Ridiculous! I'll stick with my tried and true horse and buggy!'

All these $50K to $80K over priced dealer ICE trucks gonna be in trouble soon when the BEV truck price wars really kick off. Plus the EV credits that go with them. A lot of folks in non-rural areas with access to chargers and don't hardly tow gonna take a serious look at BEV trucks. Why not; latest tech, no oil changes, little to no maintenance, cheaper to charge then gas up, batterys way better then they used to be, etc..

The horse and buggy crowd must have feared electric cars back then too, but they had the same issue of price as today, in 1912 a Model T was $650 while Electric cars were around $1750.

Approx 300 million vehicles were sold last year, 1.7 million of them were electric vehicles.... 41% of those EVs were sold in California... 5% each were sold in Florida and Texas..... The rest were scattered around the country.....

    Draw your own conclusions

Is this comment a mix of national and worldwide numbers because about 15M cars are sold in the US every year.

The only problem EV cars have is the Price, they are generally 10 to 20k more expensive than the gas cars in same class. Saving $1500gas per year but upfront cost is worth 10 years of gas expense. For maintenance, it's hard to say, but I am sure EVs don't cost less on maintenance than gas cars . Completely personal preference of choice.

They absolutely do for the normal 150k or so that an original owner typically owns it.

and even if you keep it longer, battery replacements aren’t that wildly expensive, especially when we have transmissions that are 5k+ for replacement. Total cost of ownership for most EVs will likely still be lower with battery replacement

Agree, I think those accustomed to using the dealer for scheduled maintenance could save $500-1000/year or more for the first 7-10 years of ownership. But I bet the makers will work in a reason to get the car a required $89-169 blinker fluid/battery test snake oil service every 3 months/5k.

But in theory, no oil/transmission fluid changes, no tune ups, no radiator flush, no serpentine/water pump, etc. Mostly top offs, tire rotations, brakes and incidentals.

I wish I only spent $1500 per year on gas. My typical gas card bill is $500 per month, just for my vehicle alone. You guys freaked out by EVs crack me up. The train left the station years ago and it ain’t turning around. Every talking point that some influencer/talking head told you to be scared of has been or is currently being addressed with every new step in the development process. The fact that they are as widespread and functional in these early years speaks volumes about their functionality in the years to come. They are not the right choice for plenty of families out there right now, maybe including yours or mine, but they are well on their way.

I dunno, nothing wrong with EV. You have to look at the optics. The face of Tesla, America's biggest EV manufacturer also runs America's most popular chat platform. I'm not saying there's any motivation to control the narrative on EV in America.
