when starting my truck I have to hold the key longer than most vehicles for it to start.

Audibly it sounds like the engine cranks a few too many times.

I’ve seen some say this is normal but I also have reduced mpg’s and I’m thinking this is the Crank Position Sensor...

    Thoughts? Input appreciated.

Have you had the battery tested?

How about recording your next start and posting for others to compare?

If it was a bad crankshaft position sensor you would notice near stalling while driving and an abnormal amount of misfires while driving
