Excessive knock retard but not tripping a CEL

    Howdy,

    Chasing a fun one here, was cruising along the other week and went up to a hill and the engine just luggggggggged, lost almost all power and had to downshift into 3rd to make it up. Started noticing it on other hills around town too. Seems to only do it if I'm lugging and below 2500 or so rpm's. When I'm higher up in the RPM range power and spark advance start to come back.

    Hooked up a bluetooth OBD dongle and saw that my knock spark retard was in the -20something range.

    Guesses? I'm all ears. Trying to get a list together for what I should be checking this weekend..
