Magnaflow vs. MBRP? Looks like Magnaflow has higher quality steel, but I like the black coating on the MBRP. Also looks like the MBRP is a good bit cheaper. Anybody using the MBRP?

Had the aluminized bedside exit version of the MBRP on for a week then I took it off. The sound in the cab was so loud when the rpms were anywhere from 1500-3000k and would drone pretty bad going 65mph in 6th. Probably going to get the Borla S instead.

Any exhaust we put on is almost going to cause some level of drone.
I am wondering if anyone has attempted or willing to to mess around with adding some resonators instead. Do a muffler delete and add a resonator or add an aftermarket exhaust followed by a mild resonator. It might take some research and I'd be happy to do it but I don't have a garage with lift, welding etc. I am pretty sure there might be a resonator out there which will help us get a sporty muffler with minimal drone.

    MBRP here.
Drone city. No bueno for my El Taco. I’m sure it’s fine for most I just feel it’s too loud and droney. Maybe I’ll cut out the muffler and put a magnaflo in. TRD maybe.

I had the Magnaflow 19291 kit on my 2016 Tacoma and I have the the Flowaster 817719 on my 2017 Tacoma. Between the two, the Flowmaster is the one that got the in-cab noise right (perhaps since it is dual exhaust?). The Magnaflow droned in the cab so bad it made me crazy. You couldn't even hold a conversation with the person in the passenger seat while driving around town.

I'll be honest I might go back to stock. I just finished installing some pretty decent audio on all the corners and sound deadening on all the doors. The MBRP is still pretty evident.

I got the Borla. I'm happy. Slightly louder than stock, definitely deeper than stock and no drone.

Thanks for all the advice on this! I will now most likely go with the TRD....going to check out the Borla first though.

I wish I had gone borla I had one on my 2015 it was perfect! I’m not overly thrilled with the magnaflow on my 2016. It’s a bit too loud and it’s already rusting. The borla seemed to be better quality and got the sound right. You pay a bit more but I wish I had gone that route.

I looked at Summit Racing and didn't see one for the 2017 Taco. Where did you buy yours?

I got it off Amazon I believe. Don’t quote me but I’d think the 2017 and 2016 are exactly the same.
