Long time lurker, first time poster. This forum has been absolutely fantastic for helping me out with my 2001 Tacoma!

I gave my engine the Seafoam treatment today (145k miles). Blew a lot of smoke out the tailpipe as expected, but also noticed some smoke coming from the engine bay. Took a closer look and it looks like some Seafoam had dripped out of the bottom of my engine right at the exhaust header. As smoke was billowing out the tailpipe it was also coming out from there as well.

Here's a pic, the white streaks are where the Seafoam dripped and then dried up due to the heat of the pipe. Am I in trouble?

There's a gasket that is sandwich between there. Just change it but be careful as the nuts may have been seized

Where was Seafoam dripping out of? You shouldn't be inducting so much that it's getting all the way to the exhaust manifold without being burned off. There is a gasket where the manifold mounts to the head, I believe the manifold flange on the 2.7 is prone to warping and causing an exhaust leak there. Not an expert on the 2.7 though @Speedytech7

If any of the Seafoam is dripping on the manifold or downpipe, that's probably what's causing the white smoke you see.

Having an in-engine bay exhaust leak poses a health risk too, you could be getting CO fumes in the cab

Yes, that's my biggest concern (otherwise I'd just ignore it as my truck has been pretty much set aside for Home Depot trips only).

I suppose it's possible the Seafoam dripped out of the vacuum hose and ran down to the exhaust, my hoses are pretty cracked and shoddy (next item on my list). It's cold and wet here in the northeast so I didn't crawl underneath just yet, but it looks like I might have to.

Yeah the whole design is bad for that flange, they all warp. Before I bought a header mine was warped and no matter what gasket you put it in wouldn't seal all the way and sounded like a motorcycle up hills.

By any chance does anyone have a link or part number for the gasket?

O'reilly's has the flange. I just bought one and wish I knew the part number. once you split it open, take the old flange with you. Because they have few different ones, although they look similar...are not the same. I had to double back to the store and exchange it. After getting the right part, I sealed it with a high heat silicone, just a very small amount to get a good seal. I think the flange is a bit over 2".
