I have a 2010 Tacoma. Can anyone confirm if 2012-2015 exhaust manifolds with air injection will transfer to my truck by using a block off plate? Not sure if the exhaust ports are the same size.

Can you tell what block off plate you plan to use?

If it’s the single small plate, no. It will not work.

I’ve not seen one that blocked off the ports on the head. Well other than aftermarket headers.

I was planning on using one like this:

Which ports on the head are you talking about? I have a 2010 so there are no ports on the head. Unless I'm not understanding..

    Then, No.

2012-2015 exhaust manifolds will not work.

What situation are you in that’s making you ask this question?

The manifolds on my 2010 are toast. Found a later used set and was told (and thought I read somewhere) they could be used with a block off plate.

thanls again for your response, but what is the reason it won’t work? Just curious. Seems as though the bolt pattern and exhaust port is same size on both heads. I think the O2 sensor has slightly different locations between the 2 manifolds.

I'd say it should work fine,. You'd just have to have some custom adapter plates made, or make them yourself, if you can.

I did. I welded up the SAS holes on the manifolds and installed. Worked fine. Can’t recall which gasket I used, I think it was the non-SAS gasket. I did need to get longer manifold studs for the bottom 3 holes on each side. Part no. 90126-08056.

I wouldn't think you'd even need to weld up the holes, since it's basically just a manifold to connect the air injection pump piping to the holes in the head, which don't exist on the earlier 1GR heads, so it's basically a passage from nowhere to nothing. Unless they're actually connected into the exhaust runners in the manifold side as well, but I didn't think they were?

Yes, you’re right, but I didn’t like how close the SAS holes were to the exhaust ports and it seemed like it could be a potential exhaust leak if the gasket failed - there is only a small bit of real estate between them. Probably not of great concern but welding them (and grinding/sanding smooth) was pretty easy. I used the old manifold studs as a plug in the SAS holes - they threaded in by hand, then welded them in.

Thanks for the response on an old thread. I got some 2015 manifolds for when my 2006 get completely salt rotted and started to freak out that they wouldn’t work after looking how the ports lined up (mainly thinking the gaskets wouldn’t seat right and cover up the SAIS holes. Glad to know it’s compatible and will be an easy swap.

Not sure I'd use "easy" to describe. Wasn't all that hard but getting them out is tedious. The nuts on mine were rusted down to nubs of their former selves.. I did get them all off by pounding smaller sockets on as necessary. Then used a stud extractor to remove all the old studs from the head.

I don’t mean easy as in the actual removing the manifold…more like the 2.5 gen manifold will easily fit the 2.0 gen.
