Exhaust pipe

just another version of a muffler I guess...
Not going to really make it much louder if you ditch it.
Muffler swaps is what really changes the sound & the taco muffler is LARGE...
Cant be that bad going the dump route since the TB comes that way from the factory.
Last thing toyota is going to do is kill people with carbon monoxide poisoning...

 

You are correct. The Taco exhaust just seemed too large and ugly without a coat of paint, for my taste.

It isn’t nytop quality…
Didn’t affect the sound at all really, surprisingly.
Im glad we didn’t cut-up my original pipe.
At first the plan was to just cut the original pipe at the bend where it turns up to go over the diff & flip it.
Reweld the exh hanger to the top.
That would have worked but point of no return…
Challenging part was finding a flange, it was an odd size…
He found something in his scraps that worked.
You don’t need a flange with that indentation, he just need a flange that’s flat, not female donut that was posted above. Picture of the flange above is worthless without bolt pattern with an opening diameter.
Also included pic of factory flange for reference. I’ll take a pic tomorrow with a tape measure on it.
Like I said, doesn’t sound any different to me, but I’m also the one whining that my nap system isn’t loud enough, my jbl sub sucks…

Are you criticizing his Tacoma exhaust pipe paint job on the Tacoma forums? Looks good to me. Are the GMC Sierra forums that boring?

 

Oh someone is butthurt I got a Sierra instead of another Tacoma? Yeppers

Not trying to criticize, just thought it was strange to not use high temp paint. That exhaust will get above 200.

Do 4th gens still have lean? They shouldn't as the gas tank and battery have been better balanced/offset on opposite sides now.. no?

 

I couldnt take it anymore looked like cheap crap, I painted with Rustoleum black Hammered spray paint. Looks great and paint can handle up to 200'.

 

Its been done for months with alot of idle hours and is holding up very well.
