Just beware that some clamps dont do as good a job at sealing..... My mk2 system had some serious leaks until I had it welded.
Also take into consideration the cost of 1 muffler welded onto stock pipes versus the cost of a full catback that will more than likely have the same diameter in/out as stock at 2.5" which is just fine for our naturally aspirated 4.0 engine.

AR15: thanks a bunch thats exactly what I was wondering. Sounds like the only real reason to go full cat back is ease of install, corrosion, and maybe a bit of looks. However with the full catback will the size of poor change? In that case some bending would be required in order to seat the stock pipe onto an aftermarket muffler?

Got any vids? I love the 18" but I wouldn't mind a little more noise at idle.

I just installed a huge 22" MagnaFlow... and the idle is silent. ;)

I'm not changing mine out but I really like how you did that. I like my truck to be quiet and when I had my 2011 I cut mine off on the "down turn" over the rear axle so it wouldn't show out the side.

I'll probably do the same to the 13 when it finally quits raining, snowing, temp warms up, etc....

I had the same setup before doing the bumper exhaust, and really liked it that way... :)

Its all good man... Its just an exhaust, dont beat urself up over it..

Hell all u did was add character and took the worry about the first scratch on a component :)

Unless u crushed the piping I wouldn't even think twice about it... Sure u scraped a $300 piece, but at least it was not someone else, and u were having fun.

Dont let it stop u from enjoying using the truck

I really like the MBRP cat-back duals I put on my truck and disagree that the V6 doesn't produce a good sound. I also added a Vibrant Resonator in the head pipe. The system sounds and looks great to me.

Just installed TRD exhaust 3 weeks ago. Install took me a while due to exhaust hangers but other than that it was smooth. its loud enough for me, have maybe 155 miles with exhaust installed..

Truck is no longer MY DD. all in all I'm satisfied and 200 bucks cheaper than full MF system

It's not so much for a performance sound, guys get away from the stock exhaust on 1st gens (particularily on 1st gens) to get away from the stock muffler that by all accounts is waaaay to restrictive, just by the size alone, it's bigger than the stock muffler I had on my '72 Dodge Power Wagon & power robbing restrictive at that..

Are you sure its running ???.....:p
