I'm running a DynoMax Superflo series. I'm pretty sure noone else is running this setup but it is a straight through like Magnaflow, same quality and chrome tip.
Check out these vids for audio...I think it sounds great...nice tone @ idle, purrs @ 40-45mph and growls on WOT!

The clip in the parking garage isn't as good as I thought it would turn out...maybe I'll do it from in the truck next time.
Cold idle or warm idle? lol It's relatively tame @ idle...have to get down ear level to the rear flare to hear it.

Let's leave the Flowmasters for all the Mustang owners out there. After all, they actually sound good on them. I wonder why, maybe because it's on a FREAKIN V-8! which is what they are designed for.

Actually, it sounds like Dog Sh*t. As that's how they sound on 4's and V-6's.

I am stepping out on a limb on this one.............but............it's like music............if you think it sounds good, then it's good! Personal taste I guess. I hear the FM 40 sounds great. (Other opinions) I have been jogging performance between the TRD and the Magnaflow. Difference in sound, but not in performance. (To me that is) I guess I can say that I don't want to spend money on all the cat backs available to get the sound that appeals to me and I can't get a good comparison from listening to a post on a web site. (Not true to life) Sure the headers sound really nice, but mine is still a V6. If I want a V8 sound, I'll get one. However, I believe that I made that I made a really good choice in my purchase of my Taco and you should make an attempt to listen first hand to the music that suits your ears.

Ya i agree with dutch because no matter how good you think its sound someone else is going to say it sounds like shit.

But I also think that hardtaco and tacoman are comparing apples and oranges I mean from the pictures if im not mistaken tacoman got an 06 taco with a 4.0 in it which yes its still a v6 but that is still alot more displacement then the 3.4

And after listening to his sound clip I will agree that yes his with a 40 series on it sounds a lot better then my 01 with a 40 on it

    But thats just my opinion

opinions are like assholes...everyone has one and chances are you think everyone else's stinks ... IMO flowmasters can sound good on these trucks 4cyl or 6 . but you have to make a good system not slap the muffler on and weld up the stock pipe ... nice dual pipes that are equal in length with a good sized muffler (2.5" is pretty basic) will sound very decent on the 6's while us 4cyl fans should stick with 2.5"inlet split into 2 2" or 2.25" tailpipes... I have a 427 in my chevelle and flowmasters sound like crap on it...I have vortex mufflers on it now...so flowmaster for v8's isnt really the do-all answer...also if all you do is down other peoples trucks hardtaco I suggest you just keep you asshole...er...mouth shut and buy what you like and leave other peoples opinions alone... the guy was looking for suggestions.... you said gibson I believe...some said flowmaster...magnaflow etc...I dont see anyone telling you what crap your truck or your muffler is.

also I would say if you get a catback kit you could install it yourself with basic tools and a buddy...if you are wanting dual pipes out the back or some other custom look than a shop would be highly recomended

So if i want a dual exhaust exiting behind the rear wheels i should go professional? What are the advantages of going dual as opposed to single?

I installed a Gibson system a couple months ago.I think it sounds better than OE.I think it would have been interesting though to first just have the local muffler shop slap on a cherry bomb for about 50 bucks, just to try it.

i dint mean to start a feud but i really appreciate all the help. does any one know of a magnaflow system in particular that works best for our trucks? also, what headers work the best on our machines? thanx again for all the help. my goal is tho make the most power out of the v6 with out any forced induction. i just bought the k&n intake and MSD for the taco. i really wanna put on the headers and exhaust on it..... i just wanna make sure that im buyin the best. like i said b4 i have a little $ to play with bc i just sold my turbo mr2 and got my tax return (which im sure a lot of ppl are excited for so they can work on the taco) so all the help and knowledge from all you guyz would be awsome!!!!!!!!! thank you everyone for the help

you may want to check into some doug thorley headers(i think they have long tube and shorty headers for the 4.0) and jba has them too, but ive heard the jba's are a pain to install and the gains arent really all that good. i have however heard good stuff about thorley headers!! also, if your wanting to make pure power......check out urdusa.com, and check out their maf calibrator as well as some of their other performance items?!!!
