The flowmaster sounds badass on the new big v6's, but it seems to have way too much volume for the old 3.4. My super 40 sounds terrible. A good muffler to use is the dynomax ceramic packed. That will definatly be my next upgrade.http://www.jegs.com/p/Dynomax/749870/10002/-1/10265

dont forget toyota TRD makes headers and full exhaust for the V6 trucks...I had this on my supercharged extra cab and it had a very sweet sound mellow at idle and rumbly when cruising....WOT it was not as low of a tone but not bad considering it is 3.4L (actually more like 3.6L with supercharger since it is a roots blower it adds cu.in to the volume of the engine making it a positive displacement supercharger)

throwbacktaco... try installing a smaller tailpipe diameter after the muffler see if it helps with sound I have always had luck with dual 2.25 or 2" pipes after the 40 series flow...another choice is the single chamber flow...basically a 40 series cut in half (i have also did that cut the end off the muffler, cut about 5" out of body and welded end back on for clearance issues)

here is a soundclip of mine(it was a dual exhaust setup..straight out the rear, but you get the idea. i have just a single in/out flowmaster 40 muffler now)

I guess i should find a Shop locally and get them from them and have the shop put them on ad opposed to ordering online and doing it myself?

most exhaust hp gains are high up in the rpm range. ive been looking around at the jba cat back and have found some good reviews that note slight increase in torque in the low end and imo they sound purdy good too thats what ill be getting (hopefully soon!) magnaflow says they give 8 hp and 9 ft/lbs on their cat back system but its all at about 4k rpms i believe. i wouldnt put duals on a v6 not saying they decrease performance or sound i just believe if you really wanna flaunt your stuff get a big boy engine first
