To my eyes, the difference in length between a long-bed and a short-bed OEM cat back section is roughly a foot. I believe this difference is all at the forward flange. Does anyone know if a LB cat back will fit if I have a muffler shop shorten the forward pipe right after the flange?

Yea I’m sure muffler guys can make it fit IF the back half has the exact same bends, and all they have to do is shorten the straight section at the front. I’m hoping that someone on TW may have done this and can chime in.

There’s actually some install bids on YouTube for the catback Tacoma replacements. All the bends are the same but if you order some exhausts you have 12” off the line to make everything line up.

Thank you, this video was very helpful. Sounds like I’ll only have to mod the front end as the back end after the muffler seems to be the same for LB/SB.
