I'm looking to re-route my exhaust around the transfer case to accommodate a skid plate. I've looked at what others have done but from the pics I've seen I can't quite be sure about something...

When re-routing the exhaust are all modifications done forward of the "cat back" exhaust? Or do most of these reroutes involve moving that flange back?

My reason for asking is that I'd like to ensure that I can "bolt on" an aftermarket exhaust after my reroute is done. If the reroute pushes that flange back then obviously any exhaust I change to in the future would then also need to be modified (which I don't want to have to do).

    Thanks!

You want it behind the cats. I am running dual exhaust, I had it custom done. I have RCI metal fab full skid package.

Most shops will simply move the flange back on the 2nd gen. You might want to install your aftermarket exhaust before getting the reroute. (That's what I did with the TRD exhaust)

OK, thanks. That was what it seemed like but I couldn't tell from any of the pics. If that's the case then I actually have a fairly elegant solution. My truck is a long bed so if I shorten it during the re-route I'll shorten it such that a short bed exhaust will be bolt on.
