Just got mine done this morning at Plaza Muffler and Hitch. Called ahead, showed up, drove the truck onto the rack, and 30-40 minutes later, they were done, really straight forward and affordable.

Did they use same diameter piping for yours? Does it change the exhaust note much?

    +1 Carl
I also went to Carl at:
    Plaza Muffler & Trailer Hitches
    125 N Pixley St
    Orange CA

Charged $100 for the exhaust reroute and $60 to install the Borla Pro XS (40358) 14”. Great service and great prices! Would highly recommend. I used to go to the muffler man in Placentia but his prices are so high and the line for service is way longer…I was in and out.

Finally got it done at Plaza Muffler! I love his confidence and worked quickly. Used the shield to protect the 4x4 actuator. 20210913_160534.jpg 20210913_160530.jpg

Short bed? I see the re-routes either loop back around the front like this, or curve back towards the rear.

curious to know the same. Last place I heard from said $300 in SD.

    seems like a lot.

to put it in perspective, couple years ago in another state I paid $60 labor for a resonator to be welded on (provided the part)

    good to know thanks.

what did you tell them you wanted?
“Hey man can you please make this higher, same pipe diameter, so I can fit a skid? But not to where it’s touching and melting things”

last guy I talked to claimed he’s gonna do all this other good stuff, like a collector merge to improve flow, as well as tuck and relocate other parts higher and out of the way for off roading

which I understand. Extra work and materials costs more. May or may not be needed. Could be useful and cheaper than new aftermarket.
Just a little more than simply “I’m trying to fit a trans skid to prevent cat theft” which is at least one of my goals. Flat skid, not the protruding hump one, requiring reroute like most folks doing it.

I called beforehand and just said I'm looking for an exhaust reroute on my Taco for skids. He knew exactly what to do, does reroutes on tacos pretty regularly. Used same diameter pipe without me mentioning anything. Easy guys to work with

Going to save Plaza Muffler for mine. Had a Black Widow muffler installed a local shop and didn't quite like how it turned out. This time around, id like to go with a side exit. I am only a prerunner so I hope its possible. Seen a few Tacoma's with them.
