OK my fellow Taco owners. Yesterday I asked for CAI recommendations for my truck. Thanks to all that took the time to respond and help educate me as I'm a complete Taco/foreign truck rookie. After much great input and further research I have opted not to get the TRD. I'm leaning towards an aFe as multiple people said was best for sound, or maybe an S&B as one member highly recommended. I know the performance additions may be pretty limited, I also know my truck already has a CAI but I'm primarily doing this for the sound. So three things.
One, any thoughts on those two CAI brands in particular for best increasing the sound, or any other additional recommendations for other brands to get me that. But again over all I was told go for the aFe for best sound.
Second, I now need to know what route to go for an exhaust and or muffler. What do you guys reccomend for exhaust for primarily the same reason. Sound. Thoughts on Flowmaster for these trucks? I used to put Flowmasters on all my GMs but I'm not following my typical mod upgrades as this is a significantly newer and different truck. I'm not following my typical upgrade plans as this is not a full size V8 GM.

Lastly, will any of this require me to reconfigure the conputer? I certainly hope not. I'm no mechanic but I've always been able to do all these mods, wiring, brakes and all ny own basic upkeep on my GM trucks myself. But, the newest truck I owned before this 2021 was an 07 Sierra, nothing I ever did caused me any performance issues or dash lights. I don't know the first thing about reprogramming a computer if these mods cause performance issues and or engine lights based on the manufacturers computer settings. I wouldn't know what to do with that. Or where to start.
My apologies for rambling on with the questions but I really value your input and I'm still learning a lot and you guys are helping me tremendously. Thanks again.

If you plan on getting a tune, having an aftermarket intake may cause issues. I have only seen this where the MAF is moved though. The TRD intake is fine in that situation.

For the exhaust, if it's a cat back then no modifications to the ECU will be required.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
OEM TRD Performance exhaust. All stainless and lasted for the 15 year life of my '06 and, as far as I know, still going strong.
