Makes you wonder why they didn't route it like this originally

Just had mine re routed after coming down on my skid causing a rattle against my exhaust. Toyota does a lot of amazing things. Why, however, it did not come from the factory the way the re route was done is beyond me. Tip to all of you buying skid plates, re route first. It cost me $100 at a muffler shop. Wayyyy worth the money

I've got my Pelfreybilt transfer case skid that requires the re-route in the garage (2017 TRD Off Road). Have had it for a few months. Been too busy to get exhaust rerouted. But, at least, they made the skid a few months ago. There are quite a few threads on here about rerouting the exhaust---some with good pictures---one shows the exhaust rerouted and then with the Pelfreybilt skid installed.

I bought a full set of skids way back early in 2016. I went to install the tcase skid one evening, but couldn't figure out why it didn't seem to fit. I figured I'd save it for another night when I had more time, and just never got back around to it... so now I'm realizing that it didn't fit because I need to do an exhaust re-route! I'm a little miffed RCI never mentioned that, especially because I purchased my set over the phone since the 2016+ set weren't on the website yet. What other gotchas do I need to know about with the tcase skid and cross member? Will I need to move the brake lines as well?

Do the reroute and you should be good.

Did you have to rerout it with the montown skid or you just wanted to?

Had to, plus the reroute improves clearance. I’m not sure if @Mobtown Offroad sells one that you don’t have to to do the reroute. You’d need to check their site or since I tagged them Joe might pop in and let you know.
