I'm looking for an exhaust shop in Denton myself now. gonna get the Y pipe on. just not sure if I'll be needing a resonator. seems the TRD muffler doesn't need it from what I'm seeing... just the stock muffler does if removing the rear cats. any chance someone can confirm that?

I can confirm that the URD y-pipe with stock (not TRD) cat back needs a resonator. I was just going to get a slip fit setup and add it myself.

There's some raspiness while accelerating mildly around 3000 rpm right before the transmission upshifts so it sounds a little silly.

That’s a clean setup. Do you get a check engine light without the cats?

Is it just me, or is it really hard to find muffler shops that work with stainless pipe? I'd like to get an exhaust re-route done but every shop around here strictly uses aluminized steel. Seems silly to weld that to the factory stainless exhaust.

Same here. I would have to have them special order a piece of it. Also, might need a different bender for ss.

Is there a different type of welding technique for stainless?

Had the reroute done today. The guy did it a bit differently than I expected, but it is now higher than the transfer case.

I'm not an expert of any kind, so please keep it in mind... now if that was my truck and there was no way for them to re-do it, I would install a heat shield between that re-route and that plastic, just as a precaution

ya, you can MIG with stainless if you have the right wire and gas. but 99.9 percent of muffler shops will not be doing that due to cost. i generally Tac with mig, then finish not the bench with TIG when doing true stainless exhausts.

Agreed. Maybe it’s the angle of the pic but that looks right up on that actuator, or whatever that black plastic box is.
