For what it's worth, I have Borla Touring Axle-Back exhaust on my 2013 Mustang, and they sound awesome! As far as my Tacoma goes, I'm just staying with stock.

Not to my ears... Settles back to a nice quiet growl without acceleration. (Guess it also depends on your definition of drone)

    Nice!

My definition of drone is when you cant talk normally while cruising on the highway, haha!

I have the borla s-type on mine and i love it.

We are all capture by the sounds of “hot-roading” growing up ...a man thing?
Today ..very popular for a deep throat sounding trucks ...

but there is a hand full of us that like it quieter...

This reminds me of going fishing on a very dark night with group of off roaders..going down
hill, on a winding road way..
I lost sight of the trucks in front and decide to wait for my friend lagging behind..new to this trail...
As I stop...I could hear a “wump..wump, wumping sounds..” ...around my truck..I was by myself...
It turn out to be my long CB antenna...lol

if my exhaust was loud..most likely I would NOT have notice it...
    Aloha...

@Junkhead hows the Borla ? I’m thinking of getting that and taking off my MBRP turn down. It’s too loud for me with the drone and 2500rpm. Wife also dislikes it on the highway trips. I’ve heard Borla has very minimal or no drone. Can you confirm?

Correct, no drone at cruising speeds. When you step on it, then you can definitely hear it. After 4 years I’m still loving mine!

    MBRP is way too raspy.

Something about a low rumbling “sounds”…. Must be a man thing…. I enjoy listening to “ Taiko Drummers”….
Google or YouTube .. listen to the several Taiko drum performance….Popular in Japan, and many countries have there own Taiko drum groups….
We also enjoy the many youth groups that performs around our islands during festivals…!
    Aloha

Sorry for the late reply but how did you like the exhaust? I'm thinking of getting one myself.

Got the Flowmaster dual exhaust, installed and drove it. I am gonna store the stock exhaust in the barn for awhile. I love the way the Flowmaster sounds on cold starts and gently taking off from a stop. I am not really caring for the highway speed sound of the thing. I am 110 to 150, depending on direction, miles to town so I like to listen to the news or a ball game on the radio.
