Just from the standpoint of not losing any HP since Toyota probably designed it to work with the engine air flow characteristics as well as the stock exhaust does.

I've got Magnaflow cats (since I had to replace my stockers and didn't want to spend $3000+ for OEM cats) as well as Flowmaster's American Thunder exhaust. It's hard to notice any difference (if at all) between the OEM and Magnaflow cats in terms of sound, power and/or flow, but there is more than before at full throttle. Granted, I did the intake silencer removal, deck plate mod, and throttle body spacer...so, at full throttle, you can really hear the intake and exhaust blaring...and the throttle body spacer's faint whistle.

To say one way or the other if aftermarket cats will give you more sound and performance is tough...although the manufacturers will say and show you graphs on how it does this or that. A dyno might tell you, but your butt might not feel the difference, lol.

(On a side note...you might be pulling the P0420 code if you replace your stock cat. The Toyota rep said they probably didn't have as many precious metals as the OEM cats. So I'm gonna have to get the URD simulator to fix that problem.)

    Anywho, hope this helps...

    I have a Gibson catback setup and a k n N intake.

I love the sound I get , especially coming around turns with the foot on the throttle, yaaaay

Not ricey at all, much more deep and low.

So I've be lookin around at exhausts for a while now (and just finished readin this whole thread). Curious if anyone is running an MBRP? I ask because I want an exhaust with pre-axle drop and so far the only systems tat do this are the flowmaster and MBRP but I don't know anyone running the second and YouTube videos just aren't true to sound so I don't wanna drop $200 into something I have no real idea if I'll like.
