My 2003 4WD 4-door extended cab 3.4 Automatic has a one-piece exhaust from the rear cat all the way back - pipe with 02 sensor fitting, muffler and tail pipe. It sure would be nice to get a one-piece replacement but they do not seem to exist. Anyone seen such a beast for sale? If not, any advice on a replacement system that is assured to fit? Diagrams from different sources are not always convincing.

They are not meant to be one piece. Someone has welded yours into 1 piece. There is supposed to be multiple pieces.

What is it you are looking to do? Does your current muffler or tailpipe have a whole in it? Or perhaps it is rusted out or just sounds like crap?

If the piping is good, just have a shop cut out the old muffler and weld in a new one.

My ‘01 has a one piece cat to cat to muffler. It was custom welded by the previous owner. The problem with it now is that the first section is original, the last two sections are new. The first section has quite a bit of corrosion and I suspect that there is a small leak around the o2 sensor bung. So, unless I plug it with high temp JB, I may have to pull the whole thing out just to replace the first section. Or cut it under the truck and have it re-welded? Long story short, maybe just stick with the stock configuration?
