Has anyone put a exhaust system on a 2.7? If so does it sound decent or does it sound like a rice burner?

In my experience any 4 cyl. with exhaust is going to sound a little ricey.

Don't do it. You'll regret it. Honda Civic Drivers will hear it and think it's a mating call. They'll try to get you to do sex to them... that gross kind of Tailpipe to Tailpipe action.

Most people put a flowmaster 40 or 50 on the 2.7! IMO it sounds a tad ricey, but it has a nice little rumble! I bet if you did some exhaust mods and got some headers it would sound better.

Haha thanks for the advice! I just wish there was a way to make it sound a little meaner.

Personally I think exhaust on 4-cyl is 10x's more pleasing than almost any exhaust system on a V6. The best sounding engines to my ears, have always had 4 or 8 cylinders.

The worst are V6 and V10's IMO. That said there is a guy on here in the 4-banger threads who put a V6 TRD exhaust on his truck, and it sound great. No drone, deep growl and not fart-can like at all. The TRD exhaust is not a direct fit to the 2.7, everything lines up, but apparently a few inches near the flange needs to be cut off and welded, but a good shop could do that all for about $50.
