    Hi guys,

    looking for some info.

Today I will be replacing my stock exhaust with a Afe exhaust on 2015 Tacoma TRD.

yesterday while under the truck and adding wd40 to help loosen the rubber hangers and the bolt with the spring at the flange - I noticed a square nut on the threaded side of the bolt.

Question: does this square nut need to be removed or is it welded on to the flange (not removable)?

can’t really find the answer to this.

    Thanks!

    Sounds like a carriage bolt.

Just added the pic. I circled the nut I’m referring too.
    Thanks!

It’s welded on and is not removable. The only thing you should have to remove is the bolt

Circling back and confirming what has been stated by fellow posters - nuts are indeed welded on to the flange.

    thanks again!
