Thanks found a few clips on it

I believe you are correct sir. I know I read it somewhere on here about being the same just Toyota has their TRD stamp on theirs instead of the Borla

I believe Borla makes the muffler, but it’s not the same exhaust.

We offer most brands and can help you out. Our favorites are Borla and Maganflow for their deep tone. Message me for a quote, we offer discounts for the members here

Did you read this somewhere in a forum, or can you pin down a Borla or Toyota source? I can only ever find "I believe I saw..." or "Someone posted that...". You'd think Toyota would be loud and proud about it, Borla is a pretty prestigious brand name.

Nah man just heard through the grape vine and on the forum. The TRD is way quieter than any other aftermarket exhaust.

Ya that's what I've heard, and I've been next to them in traffic and can hardly hear them. Sometimes I think the Borla is actually louder inside the truck than outside, but it's never offensive. Just wish there was somewhere we could actually verify the Borla makes the TRD muffler rumor.

If I recall, it is because Toyota does not really make performance parts themselves, and instead outsources them, while stamping them with the TRD logo.

    TRD Superchargers made by Magnuson/URD/etc.

There are a couple of YouTube clips of this exhaust sound...the sound makes me feel like an angry old man yelling at the neighbor kids to turn their devil music down.

I've had my TRD exhaust on for almost a week and It's much better than the stock one. It has a subtle deep tone that I would rather have than something that is loud and obnoxious. I expect it to get a little deeper as it brakes in more.

Seems correct, Bosal apparently manufacturers a lot of OEM exhaust components http://www.bosalusa.com/about.html. Also, there are some posts about Bosal being stamped right on the side of TRD mufflers, but I can't confirm since I have Borla. Big difference in quality from several posts I've read, Bosal seems to not be built quite as well....which would make sense considering they mass manufacture at the scale they do. Thanks for clarifying this.

I swapped in a Jones muffler with a resonator, but I'm not sure I like the resulting sound. Sometimes it sounds great, but other times not so much.

My wife hates it, but I can't decide if that's a pro or con...

If my Pro didn’t come with the TRD exhaust on it, I would have gone with Magnaflow. I have run their systems exclusively on all cars/trucks that I have modded for years. The deep tone is what gets me every time.
