I had a 2008 350Z and I got an HKS knock off on ebay for $280.00 And let me tell you that Z sounded awesome :D Thats what I miss about that Z, the cheap ebay knock offs. I'm surprised there aren't to many knock offs for our trucks. Though a knock off the quality was dead on and performance was there too. I was even thinking of buying that same dual exhaust and trying to fit it to my tacoma. Only thing is that it would look strange on a tacoma due to its design. Looks way better on a Z, any ways where I"m going with this is that a V6 can sound good with a proper exhaust system. Has anyone tried a true dual exhaust system?

That's pretty much how they all sound. Anyone trying to tell you otherwise is biased...

If you're going to dual, you need to do a true dual. I've read on here thats the only way to get any actual performance out of a dual set up. Individual pipes all the way down from the exhaust headers to tail pipe. Imo, I like having a stock look but sounding totally badass. All the guys on campus with their "domestic" trucks didn't expect a Toyota truck to sound so good.

Driving around the city is nicer, there is low end torque that wasn't there before I put the muffler on. I also notice I don't have to accelerate as hard to get up to speed when I have a load in the bed or have a cab full of passengers.

MPG is decent. My last fill up was only 15MPGs, but that's my fault :D. If I'm actually watchful of how I drive I've gotten around 20MPG, usually 17MPG around the city.

true dual sounds too expensive xD does y-pipe get the same performance as single? because if so i might just go that route simply because im not looking for that much power just a little bit with nice sound and better MPG and better looks.

yep aeroturbine 2525. Many other taco drivers have heard my exhaust and they love the way it sounds for it being a v6. I haven't come across anyone that doesn't like the sound of the AT2525 on my truck!

Meh, AT makes huge claims on MPG and HP on their box.

Don't believe it. Who knows maybe I did get a performance gain, and my truck does feel to accelerate better, but I haven't dynoed so I don't know if i really did gain any.

But one thing we AT owners agree on, is that the AT2525 makes our trucks sound totally badass for a V6 :D

    yes ^^^

I had a magnaflow installed on the 2008 I had, I hated the way it sounded, so I had the welder remove it that same day!

few years later I run across memarios videos and ended up getting AT. Hahaha

It's a good muffler. I think their website has gone down though, I can't seem to find it on google anymore.

And i just realized, you can hear that famous engine tick in my video

That would be unnecessary... you'd lose a lot of back pressure that way.

They all pretty much sound the same! You can't really change the sound of the v6 and make it sound like a v8. Y pipe and long tube headers is about all you can do but then its loud as shit. Patrick (nofords08) actually sounds like a full sized v8 but he says its super loud in the cab. Surprisingly I switched to flowmaster super 44 from their suv 50 and there's hardly any more drone (slight) and sounds perfect in the low end when cursing through my condo complex. The wifey can hear the rumble when I turn in the complex, lol! I expected it to be louder, but its still on the conservative side! Just switch mufflers and save money!

well i mean i want just do the dual more towards the tip. y-pipe right before it comes out the back. does it lose alot of back pressure that way?

also i think the flowmaster 40 sounds kind of like the AT but the At just sounds that much better. make sense?

such a big decision over something so small lol
