St Louis Zoo has the biggest Dumeril's I've ever seen. Are they normally significantly bigger than a true red tail? Thoughts on them vs red tails as far as temperment?

From my experience they tend to be shorter in length but thicker, mine needs to be fed with that being said. I hear quite a few people say the dumeril's can be nippy but mine has never struck at me, but he does get excited when you first open up his cage but settles down once he is out.

My mom had an African grey parrot a while back she would let it out and walk around the house. It was real friendly then one day my sister brought her cat over and the next day we found the parrot with bite marks on it and feathers in the cats mouth...

What'd you do to help? I usually put mine in a warm container of water, I'll put in a wash cloth too so he has something to rub on, it usually works great. He hasn't had a bad shed in a while though

Similar. Put a couple inches of warm water in the bath tub and let her soak for 20, then used a wet washcloth in my hand for her to slither through.

I also have a spotted Cory and a couple shrimp in the water along with a couple ruby reds just to get the water right with all the bacteria it needs. I’ll end up getting rid of the ruby reds in a couple weeks. I’ve got the duck weed started and 5 parrot feather plants in the water. Those will really fill the tank once they take off. Got some moss growing soil started on top of waiting for some moss from josh frogs I believe.
