Expected auto dimming mirror & compass/temp

I ordered a 2014 Tacoma 4WD with TRD. In the 2014 brochure, it states that I should have received the compass, temperature gauge and the autodimming mirror with that TRD package. All I have is a standard mirror, the one with the flip tab. My husband had driven it home after it arrived on the lot--I was out of town, so it was the first thing I noticed that wasn't there when I drove the Tacoma today (straight to the dealership). My salesman was out and when I asked if Toyota can just "plug and play" the right mirror, all I got was "we will call you when we find something out."

Has anyone had any problem similar to mine? If so, what did you do about it?

It seems to be a common issue. Many people here have the exact same problem, seach back a page or 2 and you will see a few threads on it.

Long and the Short of it.

It is not the first time Toyota has said something is on the Tacoma and it hasn't come. In 2013 They said the Tacoma came with Homelink garage door opener and it did not. Toyota never ended up doing anything.

I believe one guy on here has infact made some progress with the rear view mirror with Toyota.

 

Man! I wish I got your mirror. I don't need the Homelink stuff. I like having the temp for outside though. Flip tab would have been great to have.

 

I just bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma 4WD with Off Road Package and also found out it does not have a compass and temp. gauge. I called Toyota and they said its not available. Even in the 2014 Tacoma book it says its available and I called several dealers and they did not know they had no temp. or compass. Toyota said you have to go by the sticker on the window on the truck. I am mad as hell.

 

Did yours have the entune radio plus. That has the weather app that tells you the temp... Just saying. I'm going to check on the mirror also as mine is 2 days old.

 

Went to my salesman. Reminded him that we have bought 4 cars through him over the years and that I wanted to have the compass/temp mirror. He went to the sales manager and they agreed with my case. They have it on order, so when it comes in, all they have to do is plug it in because the "harness" (?) Is already in place in the ceiling of the vehicle. I do have entune with a temperature feature, but I really wanted that compass when taking it offroad. Maybe you will have a salesman willing to work with you on this? Good luck!

Only shows the Limited to have the auto dimming mirror.

 

Your temp will not work, there is no lead for the temp sensor in the headliner AIUI. Everything else should work since it appears that the existing wiring includes a constant hot, and acc pwr and a ground.
