Hardly a fan boy. Been through less than half the episodes. Spend too much time actually out in the hills plaing. My young boy enjoys watching them with dad. So we catch the episodes on rainy days and such.

Your research precedes you. Ronny is far from a "a random guy in western Australia", give the guy some credit. He runs a very successful and well known outfitting company in Aus and has a fair number of sponsors and advertisers. Have a look for yourself: http://www.4-wheeling-in-western-australia.com/

And look, I get what you're saying... you just keep saying it over and over. ;)

As I've said ad nauseum, I'm 100% aware and comfortable with the fact the XO series is not for everyone and it's naive at best to assume it could be catered to do so.

And to what do you credit your findings beyond simply that of opinion?

    Let's see:
    Subscribers are up - Check
Views are up massively, both local and internationally - Check
Sponsor interest is up, both local and internationally - Check
Corporate Toyota involvement is up - Check

Do tell how that isn't working? 596k views on a single video (S1E1) and growing each week isn't just a fallacy.

Cool story, they should make a movie about it. Until then it is just a big "what if" and posturing. I (assuming we) get you don't like it, I'm not here to convince you otherwise, it's simply not for everyone. I do and will continue to pass along feedback to the production team, I have no input on the production nor do I care to. I like what they do, how they do it and the results it is yielding.

Unless you are offering constructive criticism...you are just being a troll. Why not be supportive of a television show that supports the same values and interests as yourself? There aren't many out there!

This is a great post. Lots of wisdom. There are many types of offroading. We all need to support each type even if it is not exactly our style. That will grow the pasttime. Cheers to all the positive comments on this thread.

While yes, it's full of drama(though honestly, it'd be pretty damn boring without all the added "drama"), it's awesome to see them out there. It's just like the Long Way Round/Down series. people love to knock down others because they choose to do this or that different than what they would.

but let me ask you this... if you were given the opportunity, paid like they are, to overland and see the world... but had to dramatize it up a little... would you say no?

Same thing for Long Way Down/Round... if I had the backing to pay for the trip I'd have a support crew too, and I'd earn a damn oscar with my acting.

yes I'd do things differently... but it's AWESOME that they're out there doing what they (and I) LOVE. I'm 100% sure that they would do things differently if they didn't have to answer to producers or advertisers... but you make sacrifices to do what you love. and if you can get paid to do what you love... well... that's the dream isn't it?

That doesn't surprise me actually lol. If we look at what is popular on broadcast television these days I think its safe to say that so called "reality TV" has a lot of fans. Personally I don't like reality TV because for the most part it's anything but real and most of the shows are just full of ridiculous drama that I have absolutely no interest in. If people like XO than that's absolutely what they should watch. I think it has too much drama and for my taste the Ronny Dahl sort of stuff is far more entertaining. The drama stuff is why I quit watching Velocity channel altogether. It's supposed to be a channel about and for automobiles and automotive enthusiasts but in reality its just True TV with a few cars here and there lol. I wish the XO folks all the best but I'm afraid I won't be among their subscribers.

Geez, some of you guys act so childish it's crazy. You either like it and watch it, or you don't. You claim it's "constructive criticism" but spitting out the same garbage over and over and getting so butthurt that others don't agree with you is a joke. I personally enjoy it, so I watch it. I enjoy Ronny as well, so I watch it.

The beauty of TW is there is virtually no topic that we can't argue and insult each other about.

Pretty much sums it up it appears. I've only been around since end of 2013 and it sure has changed a lot.

With the "constructive criticism" comment, I was just saying that it makes no sense to comment if your intentions are to simply trash the show and its supporters. I am not "butthurt", but I started this thread to discuss XO's new build. I could care less if you liked the show or not. Its a cool build, and they have the financial support and offroad expertise to make it cool looking.

Good show all around but this year I pray it is less product placement and more wheeling.

Looks nice, custom fabbed swing out I'm guessing? Haven't seen one hit the market yet unless I just missed it.

That's bad ass Kurt. And who makes the bumper?

The irony in the last page or 2 is a guy talking about how he doesn't like all the "drama" in the show. Yet has made more drama in this thread, and restated it over, and over, and over.................and over again.

Get over your self. If you don't like it then go watch Ronnie, or any other page. Hell watch kittens falling off couches. You act like youtube is on an uncontrollable loop of XO.
