Thought I'd share something fun that happened to me at random yesterday. While at work up here in Montana I ran into one of the ladies from Expedition Overland. These folks are based here in Montana and do some serious Overland trips with Toyota 4 Runners and Toyota Tacomas. Had a great time chatting with her about all the mods they've done to their Gen 2 Tacoma (think it was a 2011?). This vehicle pictured below is their "equipment" vehicle and carries their radios, chargers, camera equipment, search & rescue gear, first aid stuff, and a refrigerator.

Because of the weight loads it carries it rides on an Icon Suspension system. Sounds like they've traveled from the north end to the south end of the North American continent and plan to conquer South America next!

I'm in no way affiliated with these folks. Just thought I'd share because I thought it was cool and very Tacoma related!

If you're interested in seeing their videos and such visit their website or look them up on YouTube! Sounds like their latest Overland trip will be posted here in the near future.

Yeah I'm excited to get some free time to watch all their videos! Seeing their ride up close makes me want money to build out my own rig. Ha-ha

    Time and money...

Awesome, I bet that was a good chat. That Tacoma is a 2012 or newer.

Did anyone else see when they put a tree throught the headlight of that truck while wheeling in British Colombia? Went right through the light and punctured the wiper fluid reservoir.

Very nice truck. How have I not seen this yet? Just watched the first episode and it looks pretty amazing. Sometimes I wish I had gotten the 6-speed manual, like this one is, but when towing I like my auto on hills.

I watched all their videos earlier this year after someone linked one video in an AK thread in the off road section on here. Enjoyed them quite a bit.

They do get some abuse from serious off road dudes as being poseurish, and I agree that Clay is a little - umm - I don't really know the words to describe him - trust fund dorky, maybe? Let's go with TF dorky. Still, they do cool shit, they have cool rigs, and I'm stuck in Ohio while they are living the dream so more power to them, I guess.

The trailer in the first series was a mistake. I'm no Johnny Off Roader but even I was like "you can't be dragging that thing up switchbacks". Looks like S2 they dumped both the trailer and the fat ass Cruiser.

I did buy a hat and a few stickers from their website to help support them.

The 4R in the new series looks fucking bad ass, too....
