Just got this Expedition heavy duty rear leaf springs from Allpro offroading part# 4505T-AP-3EX-PR rated at 3" lift height while carrying 400-500 lbs of cargo.
I have no idea how to install them, not even which end goes towards the front or back. I guess I'm about to figure things out as I go and of course any input from you guys will help tremendously.

    Torque specs!

Clean the all the bolts and use anti-seize.

Leafs are pretty easy, the hard part is maneuvering the heavy ass things by yourself.

Compare with your leafs you take off for positioning.

Do 1 side at a time, just in case something gets messed up.

Any idea what to expect if you install these on a completely unloaded truck?

Sorry fellas, I've been procrastinating in this project. I guess I'm using the excuse of not having the replacing shackle kit from www.archivegarage.com that I want to get before my leaf spring installation.
I already change my rear brake lines with the 24" steel braided lines from Crown Performance designed to accommodate up to 4, 5" of lift. Also got a pair of Bilstein 5100 rear shocks ready to go! Like I said, just been delaying this too much. School is taking most of my free time away from me.

But thnx for the good advise!! https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/iasco.122211/

Can't wait to see how my truck is going to look afterward. Right now with my Camper shell and stock leaf springs and shocks it looks very uneven. It's sagging a lot on the rear.

So, in response to https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/andrew61987.156610/ , I have no idea what to expect with this leaf springs installed on a completely unloaded truck. Pls enlighten me! Did you mean I should load my truck's bed before installation? or After I've finished up installing them and driving my truck with an empty bed to see what's the outcome?

Well, either the case, this is my first time installing a set of leaf spring period., so hopefully the results would be positive as I'm expecting. Better clearance, more weight carriage capacity and better flex while offroading.

At least my Allpro High-lift bed rail mounts are completely installed and doing a great job.

Swapping leaf springs is a PITA by yourself. They're kinda heavy. That, or I really need to hit the gym. It seems like aftermarket ones are always heavier, too... especially yours :D
    Good luck!:curls::cheers:

Lol... talking about gym... Since I got out of the military 3 years go I haven't pump iron at all. So, figure that one out, specially now that I've been here in Florida for a year or so ago, still meeting new ppl but nobody to help me out with this type of projects yet. So that's one of the reasons adding to my procrastination.

I see you are in Canada... wao... not friend with the cold weather but always been wanting to take an expedition trip thru Canada all the way to Alaska.

Hope u having fun out there with your taco... bet is a lot to do, and interact with nature :mudding::bikewhoops::infantry::yay:

A lot of very vital and useful information. U seems very experienced with this installation, Greg. Got couple of questions for you: what type of shocks are you using on your application? Does it rides smoothly on an empty bed?? Have in mind that I got an ARE camper shell. And got some bigger tires and rims that I'm planning on installing after completing this project...

That is not my write up, but I am running expo springs, and I followed that write up and installed them on my own. I have a leer shell and full armor, springs ride great. Right now I am running 10in fox's. I plan on doing the shackle flip and B.A.M.F. rear shock relocate and run 12in Kings.

This are the rims and tires I'm planning to put on after my leaf springs & shocks installation.
    They are 285/70R17's on Fuel Trophy's D551 17X8.5

Since I joined this website not that long ago, I've been trying to read a lot of the every interesting and advanced projects of multiple users here... It blow my mind how much u can do!!

But 315/75R16 , is the same as 315/70R17 for my rims right?? How much modification did you end up doing for your front end to clear this gigantic size of tire??

There is a thread for that too lol.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2nd-gen-4x4-35s-3-lift-w-o-body-lift.285871/

Yes they are the same size.
To clear those, trim fenders and flairs 2.5 inches, cab mount chop, beat pinch weld flat and beat back portions of front wheel well with sledge hammer. Rims with propper back space or spacers.

Nice to meet you too Xavier. There is a lot of good info on here, and sometimes you have to sort through a lot of opinions to get fact, but a great resource with lots of ideas and write ups for the do it yourselfer. Have fun with it, and try not to let it eat too much in to your wallet. Always watch out for sales and deals. Lots of group buys, sales on holidays and used stuff can help make things a little more economical.
