Who here has installed the URD 170 degree performance thermostat for the 4.0? I've tried looking at write ups for it but nothing.

I'm going through and replacing water pump, hoses, belts, pulleys, tensioner and thermostat next weekend.

The URD thermostat came with install instructions but I'm slightly confused about the orientation of how everything is re-assembled. I bought a new thermostat housing to use instead of the old one for ease to work on while I still drive my truck, and looking at everything I cannot figure out how everything is supposed to be put together once you remove the old thermostat and remove the clips.

So, long story short anyone here who has installed the URD performance thermostat that can give me better insight as how things go back together, maybe a picture or diagram for my simple mind? Thanks everyone.

Ok, at first I was concerned that the pressure in the system would pop the thermostat out/there wouldn't be a gasket to seal the cnc place to the inlet. Now thinking about it the gasket that is around the actual thermostat sitting in the cnc place will also be the gasket to the inlet in place of the original on the housing, correct?

Thanks by the way, I felt so stupid looking at the configuration trying to figure it out!

Well it certainly will have a better overall impact on a supercharged engine to help keep it cooler which will run better.

The reason I'm upgrading is that I'm about to replace water pump, hoses, pulleys, tensioner, belt and do a coolant flush and since it can get pretty hot here in the south, I want to run cooler for when I'm at URE since there won't be much airflow going over the radiator. That and stop&go traffic is pretty much what I deal with all the time.
