Experiences w/ rear auto-locker in 2nd Gen AT daily drivers?

    Partial list: Vagabond Drifter 3rd Gen OR rear axle 4.30 gears Bilstein 6112s and Tundra 5160s.
    Looking for people with actual experience running rear auto-lockers in their 2nd Gen auto transmission daily drivers.

    Please no boilerplate tales of woe from people who have not actually done this, preferably with a 2nd Gen auto DD. I ran an auto-locker in my 1st Gen MT DD for years, in all kinds of weather, and was pleased with the performance on pavement and off.

    The 2nd Gen is a different animal, with a different differential, VSC and TRAC, not to mention I've gone from manual to auto. Aside from general reports of driving dynamics, I'm curious how VSC handles driving a locked axle sideways, reliability problems that presented themselves, and so on.

    Are you talking about a torsen style differential? I have an Eaton truetrac on a 2013 sr5. It works well for dd and no need to flip a switch to get posi traction. I have had rear elockers in the past and they work well in the muck but I was looking for automatic traction in on and off traction situations (think partially icy or snowy roads).

    The availability for models is limited. I bought an sr5 bc I don’t think truetrac is available for off road package equipped elocker diffs.

    Auto-lockers provide more traction and automation than a Truetrac, with handling trade-offs. I would love to find out that someone has been able set up a Truetrac to progressively output close to 100% equalized torque and can get TRAC to activate it when a wheel leaves the ground. As far as I can tell, Truetracs always need to be activated by applying the e-brake when a wheel is lifted, and still may not provide enough power throughput in some of those situations.

    Still looking for reviews from anyone who has installed one in an automatic transmission 2nd Gen.
