Looked around and cant find much. The answers are vague when I can find some

Extended travel coilovers vs standard travel on our trucks. I read that ext travel within the limitations of a bolt in OEM replacement really only nets 1" of extra travel ( I'm aware you need ucas) just trying to find out more of this, as well as people's experience. Debating just sticking with ext travel front maybe standard rears ?

I actually just got off the phone with King on that very question.

Extended travel gives an extra 1/2” of trave and requires an after market uca. Without after market uca and the suspension fully extend it will break the uca at the ball joint. Standard does not require UCA and has 1/2” less travel. Beside that it’s the same.

Dang that was pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. The second part, " standard does not require uca and has 1/2" less travel" is that 1/2 inch less travel that STOCK, or 1/2 less travel than extended in the same suspension ?

    Thanks that's handy.
I've seen several places sell ext fronts but standard rears and was questioning it. Bottoming out a shock isnt so bad if you're looking for a reason to replace OEM shocks Haha.
Did you need extended brake lines with your setup ? Shouldnt think I would need them unless I'd do ext rears and maybe a full leaf replacement vs an AAL

    a couple things
I always find most mfg sell a shock in the rear that is to short , say installing even a ome lift on the hoist fully drooped out you need to jack up the rear axle housing 1.5" to attach the shock fully stretched out ... and as said if you are planning on a uca go with extended travel coilover they dont cost anymore ...

If your just doing an OEM shock replacement your in the clear, and do not have to run the EXT. To help clarify the kings with EXT gets you an extra 1/2 inch like mentioned above by them taking out a spacer inside the shock itself. We have guys usually purchase those when they run a mini deaver pack or full leaf pack in the rear to maximize the travel. Or we can order them a longer stroke shock instead of an oem style which is then paired with a rear shock relocation bracket. ALL in ALL a king OEM replacement will allow you to have a great shock for the life of the truck, better quality than stock, and can be rebuilt and tuned to your preference.
