Did you get the cab rail seals with it? Many of us had to call Extang and have them send it to us.

You're also going to want to get the Max Seal tailgate seals to seal off the bed, otherwise water can still get in at the tailgate gaps. I've got details on both in my build thread.

    Congrats - it's a good cover!

Click my signature pic - it's hyperlinked.

Did you get the cab rail seals? Two thick, heavy foam pads that attach to the cab rail.

Yeah, I know, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because the others are pretty well buried. He also bought one, so he gets points for that.

That's it. #30 torx for the cab rail (careful, they're proud of how they installed it - it's tight), install the brackets, and get the cover carefully aligned before turning the screws. You'll find that you gotta get it juuuust right to keep the water out. Don't tighten too much or you create gaps at the joints.

I did clean everything with a soap/alcohol mixture first before putting on the seals.

If I remember, the brackets even came with an Allen wrench.

    Have fun!

Maybe due to over tightning the clamp?

Installed the tonneau yesterday, along with the seals. Thought it was for tail side but it was for the bar near cab and bed.

Looks great, my only q's is how much to tighten, it does say 2 turns after making contacts, otherwise may deform the panel.

So they included 2 of these cut outs, i take it its just to show us the insides?

I tightened my cover down enough so I won't be able to make a gap between the cover and edges of the bed. So if I pull up on the cover when its close, I could raise it but not enough for the rubber seals to detach from the bed edges.

I got the same pieces of foam. I agree and guess they want to show is what its constructed of. I like the contruction of this cover. It looks like it can stand the heat because of the foam insulation. and the hard plastic looks like it can take a nice beating from weather like snow and hail without cracking.

Its on there tight, cant lift it up with my fingers but visually it doesnt look level.

I'm not with my truck to see if leveled. But if you're not getting any water leaking, I would leave it as is.
When I get home, I'll take a couple of picks and share.

Also, I'm starting to wounder if its a shortbed vs longbed issue with these covers...

Good point. I have the long bed and mine sits evenly and covers everything if I have it lined up just right. It keeps rain out, but I still get a little water in the bed when I pressure wash.

I have the longbed and I have very little leaks when I leave it out in the rain overnight.

It looks like that because the bed rail on the cab is higher than the side bed rails.
