Hey guys, I tried a search and didn't find much about this. I'm also getting NO RESPONSE from Extang. I've tried their Instagram, YouTube channel, email, phone calls. I even called the dealer who sold it to me and he couldn't get a hold of them. Their voicemail says something about Easter vacation so I'm wondering if they're even still in business.

Anyways, my cover is sliding forward and back. The installation instructions are rather vague. They say to use the styrofoam spacer to set the rails' distance from the front of the bed. I noticed the cover does not sit in the right spot when you do that. I had to reposition it and use super glue to hold the rails from sliding. I went off roading (pre-super glue) and the cover had slid back far enough to make a half inch gap between the front of the cover and the bed. It also slides forward after shutting the tailgate a few times. When that happens it does not seal water out very well. If it slides forward and it rains or I go through the car wash there is a lot of water coming in. I have to make sure it's positioned properly almost every single time I drive it. The super glue is working for now but that will not last long. I'll post a picture here soon to show what I mean.

That aluminum bracket seems like it should sit all the way in the rail but this is the position it needs to be in to position the cover properly. Anyone else have this problem? The cover also slides because those brackets are slid into an extruded aluminum rail. There is nothing keeping them from sliding. Seems like a poor design.

Ordered it through a tonneau dealer. Would they cover the warranty or Extang?

Have you just tried tightening the cover down, post in each corner, also make sure the mounting hardware is secure. I cant tell by your picture but your front rail up on the cab side needs to be removed.

I have tried tightening it down as tight as possible and that didn't help. The instructions say to leave that rail on. I even had to put a rubber gasket on the end of that rail and it does keep the water out.

I own one and just put it on. If you need some help please contact me. I can tell you that little piece of metal is out of place. And I can tell you exactly why. Is the back section locking when you close it?...I bet it's not. I could see where it's really easy to make this mistake. I ought myself on this one. This is your problem in a nut shell I'm really sorry to tell you that that rail belongs on the other side. They put the drains up front.( this is that exact time you put your hand on forehead and say oh shit to yourself) I'll go take a picture of the finished product and I think it will help you. The first pic is what your picture should look like. IMG_0555.jpg IMG_0552.jpghose is in front and you need to drill out little hole to fit drain hose
IMG_0553.jpg the rail system actually gets moved downIMG_0554.jpg
I can also walk you through and fix your issues. They are awesome when installed!

If you want to talk in real time send me your cell and I'll call you. I really hope it helps Oh and those 2 little plastic pieces are probably the most important part s on this thing. Don't misplace them.
