I just got through putting a TruXedo Lo Pro QT on my black princess. Looks real nice. I like mounting the side rail brackets in the sliding rail on the Tacoma. Lot better than the clamp on the bed rail. Pretty hard to mess up to on the install. I dickered with AutoAnything and got mine for $395.21

my solid fold 2.0 has the same indentations. only at the 2 mounting points by the cab tho, not above the handles near the tailgate.

    lame.

switching to a softopper later this month.

Extang clearly has poor designs. The over tightening issue is not the root cause. Any load on this material causes deformation especially in the sun.

    Cheap! cheap! cheap!

Seeing yours it really looks like these can't take the heat. But yet I chatted with a member in Austin who has had zero issues. Can't help but wonder if they changed materials/suppliers mid-production.

Was it me? I'm in Austin, and I have zero issues.

I take that back. There are slight (and I mean slight) dimples where my foam blocks meet the panel when it's folded up, but you really got to look for it.

Otherwise, it sits in the Texas sun all day. So far no issues.

Yep Cap, it was you. In fact it was your endorsement that convinced me to push the button. Now I'm waiting for the Extang production line to fire back up so that I can get my new/revised/upgraded/improved solid fold.

Dude, so sorry. It's weird, and I'm curious what the difference is between our covers.

It can't be simply that mine's a 6 footer. Can it? I can't see where that would be the difference.

Very curious to see how this turns out for y'all.

    Fingers crossed.

Well guess I was lucky because they halted production before my order went in. I'm just waiting and hope that my patience gets me a cover that doesn't share the same problems that other members here have faced.

If they halted production it was to stop the bleeding. Based on my experience, there is no good will or proactive motive behind their actions. Save yourself the trouble and don't buy it. Strictly opinion of course... But there is enough evidence out there...

"I've recently seen a number customers having issues with dimples forming on the top of the Solid Fold 2.0 where the clamps are located. I was wondering if this issue is being addressed, and when there will be a firm solution for it? I'd like to purchase the cover, but seeing these issues has caused me to be hesitant and hope there are solutions currently in the works."

That's what I just sent Extang. We shall see how generic the response it.

Auto Anything has pulled the Solid Fold 2.0 off of their website. I think all signs point to changes coming.

Very happy my order was never processed.

    Response:

    "Hello,

We are continuous improvement company and always looking for ways to improve our products. We have learned from feedback from dealers and customers as well as our own R&D that the instance you have described can happen when the cab clamps are over tightened. We are currently waiting on new componentry to come in that we expect to correct this.

Please let me know if you need anything further."

    My response:

"Thanks for your response. I ordered a Solid Fold 2.0 from autoanything.com 2 weeks ago and given same day shipping. Soon after my order was placed I was sent an email saying my order wouldn't ship until 10/5. Would this new component be on the product that ships after 10/5?"

    Her response:

    "
    Good morning Mr. kolache king,

Yes that is the reason for the delayed shipping."

So will it be named 3.0 or will it just be 2.0 revised?

Subbed for updates. That sucks because this was my going to be my cover of choice.

I still don't have any problems, but I'm wondering now if I shouldn't create one just to get a new cover.

Did you get it replaced? If you sent that into extang I'm sure they would replace it. They are pretty good with warranty claims

If you don't have any problems then why risk getting a new cover with problems

I've got an early version from Oct./Nov. 2015... it does NOT go all the way out to the outer edges of the bedrails like the current one My buddy got in January 2016... He has had his replaced 3 times for the top "skin" separation issue....It was VERY apparent...He had a bubble about 12" long, 2" wide, and 1/2" high....

After he showed me his cover, I felt mine .... In the front panel there are 2 indentations where the foam blocks come down...(I have only had mine open maybe 5 times and very careful... did NOT drop it"..) I can feel them but not really see them.... I also have different weather stripping at the tailgate... his tailgate shoves the weather stripping off of the cover...Like the poster above... Mine has like 3 little rubber fingers that slide right on top of the tailgate... His design is pure crap in my mind.... The tailgate will always shove it off because it pushes on it and does not fit clean like mine.... For now, I'm waiting.... I'd rather stick with my model than get 1 of the ones he has....

I'd suggest that anyone wanting this cover to wait or buy another brand...
