I am definitely rethinking the Extang. May end up doing a G4 or something else. I liked the fact the Extang has a quick removal time.

Yes, the Extang 2.0 has been replaced. I shipped the cover back to Extang on their nickel and AutoAccessoriesGarage gave me the option of either a refund or select another cover.
I opted for a BakFlip MX4. Installation was straightforward and the perimeter seal is much tighter. The top surface is aluminum so hopefully I've seen the last of "divots" !!!!

Looks like a nice cover. I know after having 2 soft covers before I will never own another one again. They are okay but do not last with heat and cold here.

Just got my 3rd Extang Solid Fold 2.0 (2nd replacement). They simply will not give me a refund. I never installed the last one but just let it sit in the backyard in the Texas sun & it deformed and buckled. I have not removed the new one from the box. Not wanting the trouble. I guess I regret returning the regular solid fold that was actually solid material. I could have at least caulked the mess out of it to make it stop leaking. I think i will sit on it and submit a BBB complaint.

The dealer where I bought my 2.0 Solid fold had his own cover bubble also and has had to replace many of them... he opted for an upgrade to the Bak Flip for himself... It looks like a way better product.. He actually recommends not taking a replacement now...just an upgrade to Bak Flip.. I've got 2 yrs yet on warranty, so if mine goes that way, I'll upgrade also... (I have the earlier version of the 2.0 Solid Fold, late fall 2015)... It is not the same as the ones they made later for the 2016 Taco...Mine does not go all the way to the outer rails of the bed like the newer models do..! And mine has the 3 rubber strips kind of seal at the tailgate instead of the 1 piece foam thing that the tailgate tears off when you close it...!

You just described mine, which (and I hope it continues) means mine won't "melt" either. The evidence seems to point that way. I got mine late November 2015.

I have been way to busy to continue wasting time with Extang; my new, specifically-built-for-me-personally solid fold 2.0 is still sitting in the box having never been removed. At some point my time became more important than 800 bucks. I could install it and see if it will deform again... OR... put the feelers out there for a cheap sell... posting for $300

    Reviving this thread.
I recently purchased the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 and received it June 1, 2018. The first 3 weeks that I had it the car sat parked under the shade of a tree, so there was no problem. However, the very 1st time the car sat in direct sunlight, for about 6 hours, at 80 degrees, the afore mentioned divots formed in the forward panel. I purchased the cover from RealTrucks.com and they have been excellent, they've completely handled the warranty claim. Extang has stated that the divots are a defect and offered to send a new cover, however, they would not ship the new one until I sent them photos of my old one with holes drilled in each panel. Guess they want to make sure I don't try to sell the old one. Holes were drilled and photos were sent (all through RealTrucks.com support) and a new cover is on the way. However, after reading this thread, I have my doubts that the new one will be any better. I'll try to remember to follow here, for better or worse, in a few months.
    Cheers.
