These pics look great and I would love to get this tonneau for my TRD Sport DCSB, unfortunately I need something that is water tight since I will be putting extremely valuable work product back there (I am a sales rep). Anyone have any recommendations on water tight covers? I found this Undercover Lux cover on autoanything but wanted to get your thoughts since I am a first time truck owner. Thanks

That's probably the best option for you on regards to weather proof. I had the Undercover SE on my last Tacoma and I would say it's 99% waterproof. The SE is the same cover just not color matched and cheaper. If loosing the ability to use your full be while the cover is on is not an issue for you, I would go with this route. Let me know if you have any questions.

I love the pics of the Solid Fold 2.0, but I still don't know if I should buy it. I'm nervous that it doesn't cover up the tailgate well enough. I'm stuck and don't know what to buy. I want a hard folding tonneau. I'm tired of watching my soft cover flutter in the wind! Its either the Gator FX3 and I would lose all use of the factory rail system and I would have to drill holes in the bed liner. Or roll the dice with the solid fold 2.0 and might not get a solid fit. What are y'alls thoughts?

Mine arrives on Friday, and I'm installing it as soon as I get the truck home. I'll take pics. Others who put it on report that it's at least as watertight as the Toyota model, but normally better.

My brother has a bakflip on his F-150 that has never leaked, but they're not sized for the 2016 long beds yet.

Mine will be here Wednesday. Hopefully the wife will let me put it on and not wait until Christmas. I'll snap some pics of installation and different settings and coverage.

And loosing the rails is a deal killer or I'd get the backflip!

I don't need it to be 100% water proof just mostly. I also like how the solid fold sat on the rails better than the rugged liner.

Was on the fence with the reports of leaks, however, I am really happy with the Extang 2.0 (six foot bed.) Seems to fit great and IMO looks good too. No rain in Colorado this time of year, but the cover has done nicely in the spray car wash. image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg

I haven't had any issues with the tailgate seal as of yet. A couple of people said you can install it with out the back clamps, which would allow you to slide the cover slightly back. You can also leave the rear clips out of the rails to slide the cover back if you are worried about that.

Thanks - good to know. It's coming in for my truck by the weekend, and I can't wait to install it.

I am not using the back clamps. Don't see the need for them really, but was going to add them anyway. One of the mounting screws rolled off the bed, disappearing into the bumper... That's as far as I got.

Let me know how the install and fit goes with all the new Solid Fold 2.0s that are in route. As always, pics make it better. Thanks

Well I bought the undercover lux and some 5 inch black oval Steelcraft nerf bars from Autoanything. Looking forward to my first modification to my Taco. Will definitely post some pics once it's all installed. Thanks for your help.

Hey guys/Gals... my buddy has had 2 of these and is ordering a third one... All due to the front panel (near the cab).. Buckling up from the sun.... I looked at it and there were dents that you cannot see right where the foam pads rest on the front panel... He did not even open his cover... So he did not do this damage.... It came from the factory like that.

I checked mine today and guess what..... I've got dents that can be felt there as well..!! I cannot see any deformation of the cover, yet I can feel it... and mine is NOT swelling up like my friend's, while in the sun...

    Almost looks like a shipping/packing issue.. don't know...:canada:

Heads up... feel the area where your foam pads hit the front panel and see if you have this issue as well!!!! (How could the foam pads dent the damn thing???) I have NO idea..!

I'm taking it in to my supplier for his advice.... If he thinks I should get a new one then that's what is gonna happen...!
After all... the warranty is only good for a while..

Hey I just checked my cover and I have dents in the same place where the foam pads line up. I did a lot of research before I bought this cover. The original cover had an aluminum honeycomb design which meant it could support a lot of weight. I wanted this cover for that purpose thinking it would last longer but they don't make it for our truck. This new version is just made of high density foam so no matter how many you order I think you will always either have or develop those spots because any weight at all will compress the foam over time. It's a design flaw rather than a defect. It's unfortunate but I can deal with it. Honestly, I would just advise people against buying this cover. It leaks more than typical for a tonneau cover too. Being a first time truck owner, I was inexperienced with tonneau covers and am not satisfied with it's performance especially being so expensive but I will live with it now, it's not the worst thing to have to deal with.
