Extended brake lines for rear

Have looked around on the site and didn't see anything for 3rd Gen's.

Will be doing my 5100 shocks and lift this weekend, but was just wondering if there is any difference in bleeding the lines of a 2018 verse an older vehicle? Have bled lines a lot. Just never on a newer vehicle.

Why are you extending brake lines?

They aren't needed unless you have extended shocks or shock relocation

 

With the new 5100's rear shocks because of the extended length, the rear lines need to be changed out with the extended lines that come in the HS kit.

 

Don't forget to check if the bump stops hit the frame before the shock bottoms out.

 

Aren't the Tacoma 5100s for the rear the exact same length as stock?

He got the new rcd 5100's a tad longer than the standard 5100's they are for 3 to 5 inches of lift.

 

Gotcha I'm tracking. Good call on the shock bottom out now now that I am looking at those.

 

Sorry not to hijack the thread but for the 5160's will you need to extend brake lines if you are only going up 1.5-2 inches?

 

No, you won't need to... only when approaching 3inches or more on lift would need to or if you get more droop than your brake lines can handle.

Then get that cause you gonna break shit and need more maintenance.
