So Toyota offered me the plan from then for 2100 and refused to come down. So I just went with the normal basic warranty. I was thinking of going through USAA and their coverage for extended warranty it’s a lot cheaper. I have a 2018 TRD Sport.

I apologize if this is a repeated question but looking to see if it’s worth it and if any of you all have done something similar

you never know what may happen. My fiancé had the engine go out on her 75k mile Hyundai. luckily it was still under warranty, the engine cost 10k!! i have the itemized paperwork from the dealership to prove it.

i purchased a 3rd party warranty for my 2011 because of this.

Warranties are like any other insurance, knock on wood you never need it, but if you do end up with an issue your glad it’s covered.

    Yeah.
Warranties are a kind of voluntary communism. It's the only way they work. Most people pay in and never get back what they pay, while a few get more than they pay, and the warranty company keeps the rest, and whatever they earn on the banked money. Odds are always strong that you will NOT get what you paid in. Actuaries set the prices so the warranty company makes money.

    It's your money, though.

Can't we all just get along? :lalala:

I'd rank Hyundai right behind Toyota and Honda, never owned one or really drove one.

    Don't they have a 10year 100,0000 power train waranty?

Eh, I believe socialism would be the more accurate term. And the same could be said about insurance.

Some people rather pay premiums, than sock the money away for a rainy day. If you like the peace of mind of having a warranty, get it.

That would be Socialism, Comunism is what socialism ends up being when it does not work.
See Russian history for details .
    Either way your analogy sucks!

Damn $2100 for the Toyota warranty? I got the Toyota platinum zero deductible 7 year 100,000 mile warranty for $1000. You don’t have to buy the factory extended warranty from that dealership, there are other dealers that offer it at prices comparable to what I paid and can handle it over the phone and or email.

    Yeah.
Actually it is closer to communism, due to the "to each according to his/her needs" as opposed to "according to his/her contribution." But yes, all insurance is like that. Some is required to have, some is good to have, but warranties are usually a bad bet.
