The LRA tank is aluminum. Mines been on for 18 months and looks great, did experience a bit of salty roads this winter

Adding ANOTHER fuel tank is on my list of mods. I want two instead of just one higher tank. I like the idea of a road trip and being overstocked with gas and not needing jerry cans. Upgrade the suspension with that as well. Sort of like venture 4wds setup on youtube.

Just out of curiosity, there’s no difference in tanks and mounts on a prerunner and 4x4 is there?

They’re aluminized steel, maybe that’s what he meant…

mine was normal steel with a painted finish. As i welded on a extra bung on it and it welded like normal steel. (welded a bung so i can add a aux tank to fill this one lol)

No, my tank definitely wasn't painted and still looks new. Interesting though

Would love to have this on my truck. Filled jerry cans of fuel with all my other supplies makes me nervous for spills. And filling is a PITA.

I'm going to guess, yours was the exact same as mine, which is aluminized steel which does indeed look painted and can be welded on. Every single LRA tank I've seen has been this way. The materials are mentioned here:

For that amount I’ll just buy 4 5-gallon canisters and keep them in the bed of my truck under my bakflip
