I made a boo boo. I accidentally bought extended thread lugs for my new HELO 878 wheels. All else being equal and the ONLY difference is the extended shank, will these still work on my 2003 DC 4WD with the new wheels?

Only way to find out is to try one on and see if the extended shoulder bottoms out on the hub before you're able to torque the wheels properly. Worst, case scenario, it bottoms out (DO NOT DRIVE LIKE THIS) and the wheel won't be torqued down. You could sell them here- I'm sure you'll get a buyer right away. The could be some wobble and/or possible strain enough to break a stud due to movement. Best case scenario, you're able to torque normally and you're G2G.

Either way for less than $50 you'd probably be better off getting the right lugs for something as important as your wheels.

The shoulder of the extended shank leaves about 1/8" gap before going past the back face of the wheel.

I put the lug in the hole and there is an 1/8" gap between the end of the extended shank and the back face of the wheel. Good? Or no?

So if I'm reading this right, the extended lug will seat correctly into the wheel, goes into it and stops 1/8" before the back of the wheel? If that's the case you're good

If your extended lugs went all the way through and poked out of the back of the lug opening then you'd have a problem.

    Correct on the first part.
