Has anyone successfully used an extended warranty to cover peeling paint issues? If so, please mention the company you used. I’m just thinking ahead…

Nope and I would think most extended warranties would exclude cosmetic items. Just like they exclude maintenance/wear items like filters, shocks, wiper blades, etc.

The only extended warranty worth even considering is one actually from Toyota. Not an aftermarket sold by a Toyota dealer, or some other aftermarket. Too much small print (conditions and exclusions).

Even Toyota's is a big roll of the dice in terms of value. Because you hope you never need it.

Toyota will deny the claim and say the paint fade or chipping is caused by…………
    “solar convergence”

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
I gotta pull my Platinum VSC coverage out and read the fine print again. I forgot if there is any paint inclusion or exclusions as I was more concerned with electronic issues and , of course, powertrain.

Now, where did I hide that paperwork.... o_O

Some of us don't have that option unfortunately. For those of us who have to deal with Southeast Toyota Mafia....errrr..Distributors dealerships, we don't have access to Toyota extended warranties or Toyota Financial Services. SETD has their own warranty company (Fidelity Warranty Services, who also handles the Toyota Certified program for SETD dealerships), and their own captive finance company (SE Toyota Finance). At least FWS has a decent reputation and is BBB accredited with an A rating, but it's not Toyota.
