When I bought my 2011 Tacoma, the dealer offered to sell me a Platinum 6year/125k mile zero deductible for $1100. I declined as I drive well below the average miles per year. I probably do 5k-8k a year. So he offerred the Platinum 8year/85k mile zero deductible for $795. I thought that was a good deal, so I took it and paid cash for it.

The vehicle I traded in had a $600 a month payment (rolled in neg equity) which was due in 8 days, so I really just added $195 more in my mind.

    Good deal or no?

All in all you didn't do bad. As stated above you may be able to save a couple bucks with one of the regular internet guys (Jerry or Troy) but it may not be worth the work.

I love the 8 year option.

As others mentioned, you can email Troy or Jerry & get a quote, it doesn't cost anything.
If its cheaper, you fill out a form at the dealer & mail/fax it in. It isn't really that hard.
You have 30 days to cancel with no penalty & get your full refund.
After the 30 day period, they already start to pro-rate it but you can still cash it in.
I opted to pass on the extended until my 3/36 was almost up & then bought from Troy.
Mine was $945 with a $75 rebate for the 7/100/0 Platinum.
It was very easy to do over the phone with him & paperwork came in the mail.
Its legit for I already used it at my local dealer fwiw.

Ah, I did forget to mention that they did give me a $50 gift card too, so I can say I got it for $749 then. :) Probably not worth the hassle of canceling and grinding for the $600ish range now. Im just glad no one said I got ripped.
